RNLI

The day was very emotional seeing Tommy's name on the newest ship to be built at the RNLI, Poole, Dorset. After a small talk, we were allowed to get up close to the boat itself, locating Tommy's name and soaking in how proud we all are that his name is etched into such a vessel, one that will no doubt go forward to save many lives at Sea. May Tommy protect these brave men and women who volunteer their lives in order to save others.

Emotional

Tommy's Mom, Alison, looks on with emotion at the latest Shannon Type lifeboat to be placed into service. A very emotional time, sad because Tommy is no longer with us, yet proud to see his name etched onto this life saving vessel.

Proud

Here we see the lifeboat fridge magnet placed centrally between all the other lovely memory fridge magnet pictures of Tommy.

Forever

Located Starboard side, on the front number 3, here we proudly see Tommy's name alongside hundreds of others. Soon to be serving the RNLI in Clifden, Co Galway, Ireland

Courage

The poignant statue that greets you as you enter the RNLI complex. Many brave and selfless lifeboat crew and search and rescue servicepeople are remembered proudly in their local communities. However, the RNLI Memorial sculpture in Poole, Dorset, UK, is the only place where each and every one of them is named together.  The memorial was unveiled in 2009 and serves as a source of inspiration for current and future generations of lifeboat crew, lifeguards, supporters and fundraisers. It reminds us that there are still people who volunteer to carry out selfless acts of heroism to help others; and we will always remember their sacrifice.
