The First Defibrillator
WHOOPS-A-DAISY - #1
On Tommy's 11th Birthday the Charity received and had fully installed their very first community defibrillator. The location is at a very busy location, installed on the wall of the local Florists, Whoops A Daisy ( www.whoopsadaisyflorists.co.uk ), in South Birmingham. This was only made possible through all the kind and wonderful donations made by the public, not forgetting all the arrangements made by Alison (Trust Co-Founder) alongside Jamie from AED Donate (www.aeddonate.org.uk ) It is such a proud moment for all those connected with the charity knowing that this vital piece of equipment will be available for anyone, at anytime to help save a life. Defibrillators are game changers, having one nearby and accessible can greatly increase the survival rate of anyone that may suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital.
Support
The unveiling of the defibrillator was supported by West Midlands Ambulance Service ( https://wmas.nhs.uk ) and along side CEO Jamie from AED Donate. Both whom play vital roles in the supply, use and training of defibrillators. AED Donate went above and beyond in arranging, supplying and installing the defibrillator. It goes without saying that West Midlands Ambulance Service are the frontline in life saving emergency services, they are also leading the way to educate people in the use of defibrillators and Basic Life Support [BLS]
Giving Back
It's the ethos of the Charity to give back to the community in ways that can make a difference, whether that is through simple community coffee mornings, to more serious Basic Life Support training and providing community defibrillators. It symbolises how Tommy lived his life, he cared about everyone
